Shop ‘n Save Extends Fuel Reward Savings

To mark the beginning of summer travel season, Shop ‘n Save is expanding its fuel program, “Pump Perks,” for a limited time, enabling shoppers to get 20 cents off per gallon of gas for every $50 spent on groceries from May 16 through May 29.

Currently, the chain’s Pump Perks program allows shoppers to save 10 cents off per gallon of gas on grocery purchases of $50. The limited-time promotion aims to double customers’ savings at the pump ahead of Memorial Day, one of the busiest travel weekends of the year.

“This is the time when people are gearing up for long trips and when gas prices tend to rise as well,” explained Bill Lipsky, director of merchandising for Minneapolis-based Supervalu, which supplies the more than 90 independently owned and operated Shop ‘n Save stores. “Summer is the time for picnics, cookouts, parties and vacations. We want to be sure to provide our customers with savings on everything they’ll need most in-store and on the road, with the season rapidly approaching.”

Further, Shop ‘n Save’s more than 125 Sunoco and Shop ‘n Save Express locations participating in the program provide additional convenience for those traveling in the region.
