Shipt to Deliver Kroger Orders in Memphis
Kroger shoppers in the Memphis, Tenn., area will soon be able to get their groceries delivered to them via Shipt, the online grocery delivery service based in Birmingham, Ala.
Starting Dec. 1, more than 350,000 households in the Memphis area will be able to order groceries from the Cincinnati-based grocer via Shipt, with annual members who sign up before the date able to receive $25 off their first grocery order. To gain access to Shipt grocery delivery, Memphis residents can select the Shipt membership that best fits their needs – whether $14 per month or $99 per year – and then shop the full selection of groceries offered at local Kroger stores via the Shipt app. Members can note any preferences, choose a one-hour delivery window and pay for their order, all via the app.
Shipt connects members with a community of shoppers who handpick ordered items and deliver them as soon as one hour after the order is placed, or up to 24 hours in advance. Leading up to the launch, Shipt plans to grow this community.
"From music, to food and entertainment, Memphis is one of the most vibrant cities in the country," said Shipt founder and CEO Bill Smith. "Shopping for groceries is often the last way someone wants to spend their time. With the busy holiday season right around the corner, we know now is the perfect time to bring the convenience of Shipt to residents across Memphis."
