Sendik’s Celebrates 90th Anniversary

Sendik’s Food Market is celebrating its 90th anniversary in all 13 of its Milwaukee-area locations. The activities will take place from April 20-May 3.

To celebrate its Italian and Wisconsin heritage, the stores will feature several promotions on Italian products and local items from Wisconsin. The company also is giving away a trip for two to Italy and to several popular Wisconsin destinations. The two-week event also will feature visits from the Klement’s Racing Sausages and Wisconsin football great Mark Tauscher. Sendik’s Express online orders will have the pick-up fee reduced to 90 cents during the celebration.

“Sendik’s is truly a family business,” said co-owner Ted Balistreri in a local media report. “As a family, this 90th anniversary is a milestone that I know would make our founding relatives smile. We’re grateful for the overwhelming support Milwaukee customers have given us.”

The third-generation, family-owned chain recently opened its newest location in Brookfield this past March. Earlier this month, Sendik’s broke ground on another location in West Milwaukee and has announced plans for additional locations in Greendale, Hales Corners and a second store in Brookfield.
