Save Mart Selects Lawson 2.11 Merchandising Suite to Meet GTIN Compliance

ST. PAUL, Minn. - Lawson Software, Inc. says Save Mart Supermarkets, which runs over 120 supermarkets throughout Northern and Central California, will migrate from Lawson's existing merchandising software to Lawson's 2.11 Merchandising Suite to centralize merchandising support and meet Global Trade Item Number (GTIN) compliance.

"We were impressed by Lawson's team and their understanding of our industry," said A.J. Gross, IT applications and programming manager for Save Mart. "The decision to migrate to Lawson's Merchandising Suite was clearly a wise move and will mean enhanced stability and support of our distribution and replenishment process, as well as bringing our system current to meet GTIN compliance."

The Uniform Code Council has recommended that retailers take the necessary steps to ensure that hardware and software systems are compliant with the 14-digit GTIN.

"Our Merchandising Suite reflects Lawson's strategy, vision and commitment to deliver a whole solution to the retail industry," says Carol Mackenzie, retail market director at Lawson Software. "Lawson Merchandising can help retailers to increase net profitability by managing costs, improving operational efficiencies, and supporting revenue growth."

Mackenzie adds: "Customers that implement our solution are taking a necessary step to becoming more customer-relevant. By having a greater mind share with customers, retailers are responding to customers' needs with the most appropriate products, promotions and store attributes."
