SanDisk Hits New Low with USB Flash Drives in Stores

SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- SanDisk Corp. today added a $12.99, 32-megabyte Cruzer Mini USB 2.0 flash drive into its Shoot & Store line of low-cost flash storage products sold through the food and drug store channel.

"The fact that we're offering USB flash drives in the food and drug channel at this low price-point highlights how mainstream digital technology has become in consumers' lives," said Nelson Chan, e.v.p. and general manager, consumer & handset business at SanDisk. "SanDisk is broadening its Shoot & Store line from consumable digital film cards to encompass the Cruzer Mini line in order to reach a new segment of consumers -- such as seniors, teens, and women -- who we do not currently reach with our traditional consumer electronics channels."

The Cruzer Mini fits easily into a pocket or purse or can be worn around the neck. It includes a protective end-cap that fits over the LED status indicator and the USB connector.

Cruzer Mini's thin shape allows it to be plugged in without blocking other USB ports. When the device is properly inserted, a large LED lights up to indicate its status. Cruzer Mini is "plug-and-play" with both PCs and Macintosh computers.
