Sam's Club Teaches Educators, Teachers, and Religious Professionals

BENTONVILLE, Ark. - Sam's Club is holding a series of educational events for workers in child care centers, schools, and religious organizations.

The events offer the opprotunity to network with and seek insights from a professional panel of industry experts, said the chain.

On Saturday, Aug. 7, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., local Sam's Clubs will air a presentation, created exclusively for the company, that includes industry tips and advice from leading authorities in the field. From 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.,attendees can also participate in a live question-and-answer session with a professional panel featuring Beverly Peden, director of Crossgates Methodist Children's Center in Brandon, Miss. and the 2004 NACCP Child Care Director of the Year; Angela Santomero, co-creator and head writer for "Blue's Clues"; and Jan Faull, M.Ed., Pull-Ups potty training partner and author of "Mommy, I Have to Go Potty."

"This event enables Sam's Club members to receive valuable benefits beyond in-store merchandise," said Doug Walt, v.p. and divisional merchandise manager, Sam's Club. "Our goal is to host a platform whereas educators and childcare providers can actively exchange ideas and seek professional advice from industry experts within their fields. It's one of the ways we're delivering on our commitment to the child care and school sectors of small businesses."

In addition to receiving free tips and information from industry experts, participants will have the chance to browse merchandise selections relevant to child care, schools, religious organizations, and church professionals.

Sam's Club will also offer invoice comparisons on products of interest so participants can review savings potential firsthand.

Nonmembers attending will be issued a guest pass for the day. A 10 percent service fee will be applied to purchases made by nonmembers.
