Saint Joseph's University to Host Global Biotechnology Conference

PHILADELPHIA -- Saint Joseph's University here will host a Global Biotechnology Communications Conference next month in collaboration with the Canadian Biotechnology Secretariat and the Food Policy Institute at Rutgers University. The conference, which serves as a follow-up to the BIO 2005 Annual International Conference being held in Philadelphia June 19 to June 22, will feature some of the world's most influential researchers on biotechnology.

The two-day event kicks off June 23, with a focus on public perception of genetically modified foods in the United States and around the world, including a discussion on how the media has covered the issue. The following day the conference will delve deeper into international perspectives on public perceptions of biotechnology. Speakers from Canada, Australia, London, and Germany are featured in the lineup.
