Safeway Eastern Div. Adds Floral Delivery

Safeway’s Eastern Division has added fresh floral delivery to its offerings, thanks to a new partnership with FTD Inc.

As the only grocer to offer the service in Delaware, Maryland and Virginia, Safeway can ship floral department orders worldwide for any occasion. Orders for flowers, plants, gift baskets, balloons, plush toys, candy and decorative gift items can be placed in person at any of the grocer’s FTD-affiliated floral departments, online at www.safewayflowers.com or by telephone.

Safeway launched the partnership with Downers Grove, Ill.-based FTD in time for the holiday season. Its designers offer a number of premade, ready-to-buy arrangements and baskets, and can create a wide variety of custom ones for a number of events and occasions.

Pleasanton, Calif.-based Safeway and its Eastern Division are part of the Boise, Idaho-headquartered Albertsons Companies Inc. The Eastern Division operates more than 120 stores in Maryland, Virginia, Delaware and Washington, D.C. Albertsons operates stores across 35 states and Washington, D.C., under 19 banners, including Albertsons, Safeway, Vons, Jewel-Osco, Shaw’s, Acme, Tom Thumb, Randalls, United Supermarkets, Pavilions, Star Market, Haggen an Carrs.
