Safeway, Buena Vista Team up for "Schoolhouse Rock" Promo
PLEASANTON, Calif. – Safeway and Burbank, Calif.-based Buena Vista Home Entertainment will be partnering on a back-to-school promotion for 2004, themed to the "Schoolhouse Rock" characters found on the "Schoolhouse Rock!: Special 30th Anniversary Edition" DVD.
During the promotion, which is running from July 14 through Sept. 14, Buena Vista is shipping prepack displays containing the DVD. Product is being displayed in all Safeway stores during the life of the promotion.
The promotion has been incorporated into all of Safeway's circular ads and in-store signage during the two-month marketing event.
The "Schoolhouse Rock" series was launched in 1972 with a series of catchy and original tunes that taught millions of children the fundamentals of math, grammar, science, history, and money. These rocking, rhyming, educational, and fun animated programs won four Emmy awards and aired for more than 10 years.
The DVD, available for a suggested retail price of $29.99, includes every single song ever created from the landmark series in a collectible two-disc set.
