Russ’s Market to Fundraise for Lincoln Community Playhouse
Russ’s Market will present the 2017 Lincoln Wine and Food Experience on Friday, Feb. 24 to benefit the Lincoln Community Playhouse. Now in its ninth year, the fundraiser has become a favorite of Lincoln, Neb.-area wine lovers, and this year the goal is to raise $45,000. The event has raised more than $300,000 throughout the years.
Nearly 90 booths will offer an international selection of wines, fine cheeses, gourmet desserts, beef, seafood and other unique items. Russ’s Market bakers will have several varieties of fresh-baked artisan bread available at the event, and the supermarket will also serve an exclusive selection of reserve wine and a buffet prepared by Russ’s Market Catering to You.
“The Wine and Food Experience has become a must-attend event for wine lovers. Experts can enjoy more exclusive wines in the reserve room, while less-experienced guests have the opportunity to try different varieties to see what they like,” said Pat Raybould, president of B&R Stores Inc. “And the best part is helping the Lincoln Community Playhouse provide entertainment and education programs for our community.”
Funds are raised through tickets available at Russ’s Market locations in Lincoln, as well as proceeds from a silent auction.
