Russ’s Market Debuts Volunteer Day Program
Russ’s Market will participate in its first Community Volunteer Day on Saturday in Lincoln, Neb.’s Pioneers Park Nature Center, where volunteers will mulch, weed and spruce up the areas around the trails and gardens.
Russ’s Market and Pioneers Park have collaborated in the past to raise money to support the feeding of the bison and a renovation of the Nature Play Space.
The volunteer day is an extension of a community rewards program the retailer initiated about 18 months ago to provide an opportunity for the store associates and customers to donate time and money to worthy causes in the Lincoln area.
To participate in the program, shoppers can pick up a card at one of Russ’s Markets locations and register it online. Then as they shop and swipe their card, points accumulate and can be redeemed to meet a need in the community. Throughout the year, Russ’s Markets sponsors match weeks where the retailer matches customer points to double the contribution.
Russ’s Markets is a banner of B&R Stores Inc., which operates stores in seven cities in Nebraska and Iowa under the Russ’s Markets, Super Save, Save Best Foods and Grand Central Apple Market banners.
