Rouses Becomes Official Supermarket of New Orleans Saints

Rouses Markets has revealed a multiyear partnership naming the Thibodaux, La.-based supermarket chain the official supermarket of the New Orleans Saints.

The partnership will kick off with Rouses as an associate partner of 2017 New Orleans Saints Training Camp presented by Verizon. The grocer will provide an area where fans can cool off during the football team’s practice sessions in the Louisiana heat with a Cool Zone misting area and shaded tents. Saints fans will also be able to bypass long lines with fast-pass entry into the training camp (limited numbers apply) and reserved shaded seating provided by Rouses. The offerings will be promoted on the Saints twitter account the week that training begins.

Rouses will also join in a celebration of “Back to Football” by offering Saints-themed promotions until the end of September, teaming with leading national vendors to provide fans with significant savings. The special promotions will continue throughout the calendar year, including Rouses Pre-Game Tailgate Sweepstakes, in-game promotions and branding, and a chance to be a Saint for A Day and travel to an away Saints game this season.

“We live, eat and play local,” said Donny Rouse, CEO. “We’re diehard Saints fans. This is more than just a sponsorship. It’s a partnership between two home teams and a shared commitment to everything Gulf Coast.”

“Rouses is a true Louisiana success story,” noted Saints President Dennis Lauscha. “They have grown from a single store in Houma, La., to a major force across the Gulf South region, and one of the largest independent grocers in the United States. Besides offering all of the national brands, they are committed to supporting local farmers, fishermen, chefs and food manufacturers, and highlighting the unique culture and tastes across this great region. We are excited about our partnership with Rouses and are confident our fans will find all of their needs at any of the countless Rouses locations in our communities. We welcome them as part of our team and look forward to a great partnership.”

As part of the deal, Rouses’ 6,400 employees can earn the opportunity to be rewarded for their outstanding customer service with such prizes as Saints tickets, pre-game field access, VIP experiences at training camp, and a trip to the Pro Bowl, among other incentives.

Rouses operates 47 stores in Louisiana, with eight additional stores in Mississippi and Alabama.
