Roundy's Signs Off on Second Chicago Site
On the heels of last week announcement that Roundy's Supermarkets Inc. inked a deal for a new 60,000-square-foot store in the Bronzeville neighborhood of Chicago, the Milwaukee-based retailer signed a lease to open a two-level, 55,000-square-foot grocery story in the southwest corner of the city’s Lakeshore East development near Millennium Park, according to local press reports.
The store will anchor a 140,000-square-foot retail center, according to a spokesman for Magellan Development Group LLC, which did not identify a timeframe for when the new store might open.
Roundy's, which has nearly $4 billion in annual sales, operates more than 150 stores under the Pick 'n Save, Copps, Rainbow and Metro Market banners.
