Roundy's Milwaukee Teamsters Ratify New Contract
More than 700 Teamsters employed at Roundy's Oconomowoc, Wis., distribution center “overwhelmingly” ratified a new three-year contract that includes annual wage increases, maintenance of benefits and retirement security.
The drivers and warehouse workers, represented by Teamsters Local Union 200 in Milwaukee, ratified the collective bargaining agreement by a 96 percent margin. Along with wage increases, it includes retention of Wisconsin Health Fund Insurance and places members into the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT) Consolidation Pension Fund.
The Milwaukee-based grocer's Oconomowoc distribution center is a 1.1-million-square-foot building that services stores in the Wisconsin and Illinois markets, supplying them with dry groceries and perishables.
"The local and the membership would like to offer our appreciation to the Teamsters Union Warehouse Division and its director, Steve Vairma, for the support we received with retirement security for the Roundy's membership," said Teamster Local 200 President Tom Bennett. "Brother Vairma and the representatives from the union that worked on the development of the IBT Consolidated Pension Fund have displayed sound leadership."
