Since implementing the Kronos Workforce Central suite from Kronos Inc., Roche Bros. Supermarkets has achieved “strong results” in key areas that drive business success, including the employee and customer experiences, according to the Wellesley, Mass.-based grocer. 

Roche Bros. has deployed Workforce Central in the Kronos Cloud across its entire footprint of supermarkets with 4,600 associates, consisting of salaried, hourly, full-, and part-time workers. Kronos is helping to empower and engage employees by offering such advanced features and functionality as time and attendance, scheduling, forecasting, and employee self-service applications.

Workforce Central is designed for companies with complex, enterprise-wide workforce management needs, such as grocers overseeing a diverse group of employees in various departments, to deliver optimal customer experiences. By leveraging the suite’s forecasting solution integrated with time and attendance and scheduling applications, Roche Bros. is creating accurate daily – and even hourly – schedules to fulfill customer needs and increase sales, factoring in department- or counter-specific traffic patterns. 

The forecasting application additionally gives managers at particular locations access to actionable insights, matching labor volume to anticipated demand. This helps avoid under- or over-staffing situations that can be frustrating to associates and customers, as well as proving costly for stores. Further, the employee self-service features allow associates to have more control over their schedules, while freeing managers to focus more on customer-facing and employee-mentoring activities.
