Roche Bros. Deploys NCR for Payments Security

Roche Bros. Supermarkets has tapped transaction technology company NCR's cloud-based Connected Payments solution, in an effort to manages daily operations related to payments security.

“We were looking for an electronic payment solution that allowed us to insulate sensitive card data from our retail enterprise but at the same time provide a level of flexibility to implement changes quickly and easily,” said John Lauderbach, CIO of Roche Bros.

The flexible, secure solution provides data and transmission protection, from PIN pad to payment processor, which reduces Roche Bros.' data footprint and exposure to potential theft or fraud. With the cloud-based solution, the retailer will also be able to comply with changing payments requirements as well as implement changes and configurations to all stores from a single location. Connected Payments is EMV certified and Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard 3.0. It features point-to-point encryption and tokenization, and provides advanced security monitoring and vulnerability management.

Roche Bros. operates 18 locations across eastern Massachusetts.
