Redner's Relocating Palmyra, Pa. Store

READING, Pa. - Redner's Warehouse Markets here will relocate its Palmyra, Pa. store, its original warehouse market operation, to a new building and shopping center in the fall of 2008. Construction for the new store, which will measure approximately 48,000-square-feet, is slated to begin in the spring of 2008 pending all township and construction approvals.

"The current location is old and in need of several improvements to the structure," said Redner's c.o.o. Ryan Redner, who said the family-held chain has been unable to come to an agreement with the owner to complete needed building improvements and felt it best to relocate.

The new store will be approximately 8,000 square feet larger than the current location, offering many new upgrades.

"We will now be able to increase the amount of products and services we are not able to offer presently," said Redner, noting that the sweeping change to the location "is long overdue" that should be "a welcomed improvement" among local consumers.

The Palmyra Warehouse Market opened in 1985 and is the original store to utilize the company's highly successful warehouse format, which Redner's rolled out chainwide in 1988 and saw sales triple over the next year.

Employee-owned Redner's operates 40 Warehouse Markets and 12 Quick Shoppes throughout Eastern Pennsylvania, New York and Maryland.
