Reasor’s Breaks Ground on Two Stores

On Feb. 22, Reasor’s will be hosting groundbreaking ceremonies for two new grocery stores in Sand Springs and Bixby, Okla.

The day will begin at 10 a.m.  in Prattville, a community in Sand Springs. Representatives from Reasor’s, the city of Sand Springs, Architects Collective and Crossland Construction will participate in the groundbreaking.

The $10 million project will renovate and remodel 65,000 square feet of existing space previously occupied by Walmart. The store is expected to open by late spring.

Then at 1 p.m. in Bixby, representatives from Reasor’s, the city of Bixby, Architects Collective and Bixby-based Atlas General Contractors LLC will shovel the first dirt to kick off construction for the 75,000- square-foot location. The store is expected to open by the end of the year.

Both grocery stores will feature bakery, fresh meat, seafood, sushi, deli olive bar, specialty foods and pharmacy.

The independent grocer  was founded more than 48 years ago in Tahlequah, Okla. The company was family owned until 2007 when the grocery store chain became an employee-owned company. Today, Reasor’s has 15 locations and two convenience stores and employs nearly 3,000 people in Northeastern Oklahoma.
