EASTON, Pa. - A real estate heir fugitive was arrested Friday after trying to shoplift a sandwich, a bandage and a newspaper from a Wegman's store in the Allentown suburb of Hanover Township, The Associated Press reports.
Robert Durst is wanted in Texas on charges of beheading a 71-year-old man. He is also wanted for questioning about the disappearance of his first wife 19 years ago. Police had been searching for him for two months.
A clerk at a Wegman's store off Route 512 saw him grab a Band-Aid for a cut under his nose and then take a $5.99 chicken salad hero sandwich with roasted peppers, local police reported. The store manager said Durst appeared "very nervous."
