Raley's, Pharmacists Union Reach Pact

WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Negotiators for Raley's and its pharmacists union reached a tentative four-year pact over the weekend, The Record in Stockton, Calif. reports.

The 240 members of the Independent Pharmacists Association composed primarily of Raley's pharmacists, technicians and clerks -- have until Oct. 6 to ratify the agreement. That's how long the existing contract, which originally expired July 17, has been extended, company spokeswoman Carolyn Konrad told the newspaper.

Raley's operates 150 stores in three Western states, but only its 60 in-store pharmacies in Northern California Raley's stores are covered by the tentative pact

The agreement was sent to IPA members Monday with the full recommendation of the union's negotiating committee, Konrad said.

"We are extremely pleased to have reached this agreement," Raley's President and COO William Coyne said Monday.
