Raley’s Empowers Customers to Live Better

Raley’s is inviting customers to take small steps toward a healthier lifestyle through Let’s Begin, a new program that educates customers and helps them set personal goals.

“We want to change the way the world eats, one plate at a time,” said Michael Teel, Raley’s president, CEO and owner. “Raley’s has been in our family for over 80 years, and I want to empower change in the methods in which food and resources are delivered to our customers. I know our stores have the ability to be a trusted source of information for our customers to meet their personal health needs.”

Raley’s is also offering new resources on its website to support customers’ personal goals. The site will update weekly to share insights on how to buy products, how to eat real food, and how to eat more healthfully on a budget.

"Learning more about your food – where it comes from, how it was made and how personal choices affect your body – can be revolutionary to your health,” said Emmie Satrazemis, Raley’s "wellness evangelist." “Your health is an accumulation of all the choices you make over a lifetime, so every snack, every sip and every meal is an opportunity to tip the odds in your favor. It only takes small and simple changes, like drinking more water or cooking more of your meals at home, to make a big difference.”

While a food journey is a personal endeavor, studies show that support and motivation from others increases one's chances of success in making healthy changes. Raley’s customers and team members are encouraged to share “how they will begin” to make healthier choices, via social media by using the hashtag #LetsBegin. In addition, the campaign consists of comprehensive marketing elements, including new digital marketing, radio ads, Something Extra specialized email content, and a new TV commercial that will premiere at the start of the Olympic Games. The website also provides an early look at the new Let’s Begin commercial.

Based in West Sacramento, Calif., Raley’s operates 121 stores in Northern California and Nevada under the Raley’s Supermarkets, Bel Air Markets, Nob Hill Foods and Food Source banners.
