Ragu Offers Meal Makeovers

To promote its newly reformulated Old World Style Traditional pasta sauce, which now features a thicker recipe with two full servings of veggies in every half-cup, Unilever brand Ragu is offering the “How do you Ragu?” sweepstakes. Through Nov. 8, consumers can visit Facebook.com/Ragusauce, parents to share a photo of a favorite Ragu dish for a chance to win a Ragu Meal Makeover Kit including the iconic sauce, cookware, pasta, kitchenware and other items needed to make a complete family meal at home.

“For more than 70 years, Ragu has helped moms and families feed their kids well,” noted Donna Barker, marketing director for Englewood Cliffs, N.J.-based Unilever. “Ragu hopes to help moms tackle dinnertime dilemmas by offering delicious and wholesome recipes -- providing one more great option to help ensure their families are getting the vegetables they need and a meal they’ll love.”

Now available in stores, Ragu Old World Style sauces also meet FDA guidelines for “healthy” products that are low in fat and saturated fat, contain limited amounts of cholesterol and sodium; and provide at least 10 percent of the reference daily intake (RDI) or daily recommended values (DRV) of at least one of six nutrients.
