Publix Appoints S.V.P.'s
LAKELAND, Fla. - Publix Super Markets, Inc. has promoted John Attaway to the position of s.v.p. and general counsel, and John Hrabusa to the position of s.v.p., both effective Jan. 1, 2005.
In addition to Attaway's current responsibilities as general counsel and secretary, he will assume responsibilities for risk management and internal audit. Prior to joining Publix in 1997, Attaway was a shareholder with the Lane Trohn law firm in Lakeland, Fla. In 2000 he was named Publix's general counsel and secretary.
Hrabusa will assume responsibilities for public affairs, in addition to his current responsibilities for human resources. Prior to joining Publix in March 2004, Hrabusa was v.p. of human resources for Office Depot, Inc., and before that, held positions in district management and human resource management for The Sherwin Williams Company.
Publix, which is owned and operated by its 124,500 employees, with 2003 sales of $16.8 billion, currently runs 834 stores in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, and Tennessee.
