PromoWorks Rolls Out Product Demo ID, Performance Tracking System

SCHAUMBURG, Ill. -- PromoWorks, LLC, a leading provider of in-store sampling and retail-entertainment events and promotions, has launched what it says is the first national demonstrator identification and performance tracking system in the industry.

PromoWorks said its technology tracks and measures individual demonstrator sales performance rather than just attendance. Over 50,000 PromoPIN cards have been issued to individual demonstrators executing in-store events for Wal-Mart, and data has been gathered since late 2004.

"In an industry where companies continually promise the 'best of the best' labor, we are excited to be the first with the technology in place to provide factual data that actually proves why specific demonstrators are the best," said Joanne Balogh, e.v.p., business development for PromoWorks.

The data captured from the PromoPIN cards combined with data provided by Wal-Mart's Retail Link, is analyzed on a store-by-store basis and the results are available to PromoWorks and its agencies through their proprietary web-based software. The company has branded their exclusive program under the name PSP (Proven Sales Performers).

"PSP is a performance-based program focused on delivering results, not profiles," said Mark Read, v.p., trade business management/Southwest for PromoWorks, adding that the new PromoPIN technology will measure and track individual demonstrator performance against key measures such as sales, distribution, and on-target execution to ensure only proven performers are assigned to PromoWorks projects.
