Printer Buys Majority Stake in In-store Digital Ad Network Manager
MONTREAL -- Transcontinental, the largest printer in Canada and the seventh in North America, yesterday acquired a majority interest in Enixa Media, based here, the manager of 400 in-store digital advertising displays in 45 grocery stores, including Metro, in the greater Montreal area, reaching nearly 1 million consumers per week.
The investment will allow the network to expand over the next two years to almost 2,000 screens in 200 retail locations throughout, with a projected weekly reach of over 3 million shoppers.
Noted Transcontinental president and c.e.o. Luc Desjardins: "Working with Enixa, we are offering our advertisers another complementary medium to our newspapers, magazines, fliers, and Web sites by which they can reach consumers."
Added Enixa Media president Pierre Belanger: "Enixa will benefit from its ability to leverage the relationships Trancontinental has already established with both potential advertisers on our digital platform and major retailers to house our displays."
Transcontinental, which has over 14,000 employees in Canada, the United States, and Mexico, is also Canada's leading consumer magazine publisher and second-largest community newspaper publisher.
