Popcorn, Indiana Airs 'Munch Better' Contest
The Popcorn, Indiana enthusiast who produces the best “Munch Better” viral video will win a trip to New York City to watch the “The Celebrity Apprentice” live finale in May 2011, along with a year’s supply of the Engelwood, N.J.-based snack maker’s kettlecorn products.
A recent season 10 episode of the hit NBC program “The Apprentice” featured the company as the main focus of a task to develop a viral video “stunt.” Program contestants had to produce a video about the health benefits, great taste and fun that people could expect from Popcorn, Indiana snacks. Its involvement in the show has now inspired the company to host a similar contest for consumers.
“We loved the videos created by the teams on ‘The Apprentice,’” explained Popcorn, Indiana CEO Hitesh Hajarnavis, who appeared on the episode. “We are excited to see what consumers can create on their own, without the pressure of the boardroom; so have at it, snackers -- make some video magic happen, vote for your favorite videos, and we look forward to seeing someone at ‘The Celebrity Apprentice’ finale soon!”
Consumers can view uploaded videos or submit their own entries through Jan. 14, 2011, at www.munchbettercontest.com or www.youtube.com/munchbettercontest.
In addition to the big prize, three runners-up will also receive a year’s supply of Popcorn, Indiana snacks.
