Residents of Pittsburgh’s Hill District welcomed with open arms a new Shop ’n Save that opened earlier this month on Centre Ave., in collaboration with the Hill House Economic Development Corporation (HHEDC). As the first grocery store to open in the city neighborhood in more than three decades, the ground-up, 29,500-square-foot store is owned and operated by Jeff Ross.

“Not only are we proud to be opening up another Shop ’n Save store, but my family and I are thrilled to be a part of the Hill District and Downtown Pittsburgh community for many years to come,” said Ross, who also operates four additional Shop ’n Save stores in western Pennsylvania, including two in McKeesport, one in Connellsville and one in Mt. Pleasant.

The new store boasts increased energy efficiency with state-of-the-art refrigeration, lighting and display cases, along with expanded customer service offerings like custom cake orders, money orders, postage and lottery, bill pay, ATM, MoneyGram, coin counter, Redbox and Rug Doctor.
