PG Parent Names New Path to Purchase Head

Progressive Grocer parent EnsembleIQ has appointed Mike McMahon president and executive director of its Path to Purchase Institute division. In his new role, he will pursue the institute’s ongoing mission of serving the professional needs of retailers, manufacturers, agencies and other solution providers dedicated to the shopper journey along the entire path to purchase.

McMahon comes to EnsembleIQ from a senior role at Oracle Data Cloud, a division of Redwood Shores, Calif.-based computer technology corporation Oracle. He brings more than 20 years of consumer and shopper marketing leadership experience to his new position, with significant tenures at major CPGs, including ConAgra Foods and Nestlé, as well as an executive leadership role at Alcone Marketing Group, an award-winning agency with offices in Irvine, Calif., and Darien, Conn. He was inducted into the Institute’s Shopper Marketing Hall of Fame in 2010.

McMahon replaces Peter Hoyt, the institute’s founder, who recently assumed the role of president and CEO of Ensemble IQ, a Chicago-based business intelligence provider.

“Handing off the directorship signals significant positive changes, both for the Institute and for EnsembleIQ,” Hoyt said. “With the Path to Purchase Institute joining EnsembleIQ’s integrated cross-channel network of media and information resources, we now have a tremendous capacity to help people and their businesses succeed. Mike is the perfect choice to lead that charge.”
