Pepsi Bottling Fourth-quarter Net Triples

SOMERS, N.Y. - Pepsi Bottling Group Inc.'s fourth-quarter net income more than tripled, boosted by sales of products like Mountain Dew Code Red and Aquafina bottled water, Reuters reports.

The largest bottler of PepsiCo Inc., which released its earnings today, posted net income of $13 million, or 5 cents a share, compared with $4 million, or 1 cent a share, a year earlier.

Revenues rose to $2.46 billion from $2.40 billion. Net revenue per case rose 5 percent in the United States and 4 percent worldwide.

Coca-Cola Enterprises Inc., the largest bottler of Coca-Cola soft drinks, on Wednesday posted a $36 million quarterly loss due in part to weakness in the North American market and to an accounting change, according to Reuters.
