Pathmark Names Non-Executive Chairman

CARTERET, N.J. - Pathmark Stores Inc. on Friday said it appointed James Moody Jr. as non-executive chairman.

Moody has been a member of the board since 2003. Previously, he was chief executive of Hannaford Bros. Co. Moody retired from Hannaford in 1997.

He replaces Steven Volla, who left the board Friday on the expiration of his term, the company said. Volla had been on the board since 1995.

Pathmark also appointed Bruce Hartman, Foot Locker's e.v.p. and finance chief, to the board at the company's annual shareholder meeting. Pathmark said its other five incumbent directors were re-elected.
