Pathmark to License Space to More Dunkin' Donuts Shops

CARTERET, N.J. - Pathmark Stores, Inc., which opened its first Dunkin' Donuts store-within-a-store in a Mount Vernon, N.Y. location Dec. 1, said yesterday it would open additional outlets by the end of February in Elmwood Park and Toms River, N.J. Two other future locations have yet to be identified. All outlets are slated to be open by July 2005.

Pathmark licensed about 275 square feet of space within its 58,000 square-foot Mount Vernon store to Dunkin' Donuts, which offers its full variety of coffee and doughnuts to patrons. Operating hours are between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m., with staffing provided by Pathmark.

In addition to the Dunkin' Donuts, customers at the Mount Vernon store also have access to a CFS bank and a Con Edison utilities payment center, located adjacent to the newly opened outlet. Also, Western Union service is available at every Pathmark store.

"We are encouraged by the initial reaction and positive responses of our customers to the opening of Dunkin' Donuts," said Eileen Scott, c.e.o. of Pathmark Stores, Inc. in a statement. "The expertise of Dunkin' Donuts further complements the operation of our Mt. Vernon store by providing customers additional quality products which they desire."

Pathmark operates 142 stores in the New York-New Jersey and Philadelphia metropolitan area.
