Pampers Gets to ‘Sesame Street’
To mark the debut of improved Pampers Cruisers with 3-Way Fit diapers featuring new “Sesame Street” designs (left), the brand of Cincinnati-based Procter & Gamble has rolled out “30 Days of Play & Giveaways” on Facebook. The promotion enables consumers to visit the special “Cruisers Sweeps” tab on the left side of the screen to take part in daily “Sesame Street” trivia for a chance to win a range of prizes.
Through Oct. 29, a new question and set of prizes will be offered daily, among them “Sesame Street”-branded furniture, toys and books, and tickets to Sesame Place in Langhorne, Pa. One family will be chosen at random to win the ultimate grand prize: a one-year supply of the new diapers and a four-day/three-night Luxury Included Vacation for two adults and two children (age 15 and under) to any of the four Beaches Resorts in Turks & Caicos or Jamaica. Beaches Resorts are the only Caribbean destinations featuring such popular “Sesame Street” characters as Elmo, Cookie Monster, Grover, Zoe, Bert and Ernie, Abby Cadabby, The Count, and Big Bird.
“Just as generations of parents and babies have grown up with Pampers, so have many with the Sesame Street characters we’ve all grown to love,” noted Pampers Marketing Director John Brase.
Available in sizes 3 through 7, Pampers Cruisers with 3-Way Fit diapers incorporate a softer, quilted back-sheet similar to the brand’s Swaddlers line; a 20 percent longer absorbent area; and designs including a never-before-seen appearance by Oscar the Grouch.
“Giving babies the freedom to play their way is not only important to their growth and development, but it’s also important to us!” added Brase. “That’s why we continuously strive to make improvements to our products that parents (and babies) not only need, but ask for and delight in.”
“Whether she’s giggly like Elmo, or he’s hungry like Cookie Monster, every child resonates with at least one of our beloved characters,” said Maura Regan, SVP and general manager of Global Consumer Products at Sesame Workshop. “For 41 years, our initiatives have helped prepare children for the various challenges that await them in life by addressing a wide range of developmental needs -- from the basics of ABCs and 123s, to life lessons and even to play! We love that we can continue to bring that pure childhood excitement, delight and development to life through these new Sesame Street designs.”
