Oil and Butter

Chefs often combine oils and butters for a variety of purposes, but they’re generally sold separately at retail. Now St. Paul, Minn.-based Land O’Lakes has introduced an innovative product combining these two cooking staples. Made from cream, olive oil and salt, Land O’Lakes Butter with Olive Oil contains zero grams of trans fat, 50 percent less cholesterol and 45 percent less saturated fat than traditional butter. The product creates a new use for olive oil, allowing it to be spread on toast or baked goods in this form. A 7-ounce re-sealable tub retails for a suggested $2.49.
