Office Depot's E.V.P. Joins Raley's as New C.O.O.

DELRAY BEACH, Fla. -- David D'Arezzo, Office Depot, Inc.'s former merchandising e.v.p., has resigned from the company to become c.o.o. of Sacramento-based Raley's Supermarkets.

In announcing his decision, D'Arezzo, a California native, said he had a strong personal desire to return to California and that the new position affords a simultaneous opportunity to accept a new professional challenge.

Bruce Nelson, Office Depot's chairman and c.e.o., commended the outgoing D'Arezzo, saying: "In the year that Dave D'Arezzo has led our merchandising efforts, he has made great progress in improving the professionalism of our merchandising team and, in particular, has contributed to such initiatives as our new Millennium store format. We understand Dave's strong personal desire, and that of his family, to return home to California, and we wish Dave well in his new position as c.o.o. of Raley's."

D'Arezzo will assist in Office Depot's search for a new chief merchandising officer, as well as in the transition process.
