NRF Adds to Board

The National Retail Federation (NRF) revealed this week during its 101st Annual Convention and Expo in New York the addition of five retail executives elected to serve on its board of directors. Each new board member will serve a three-year term.

Along with Macy’s Inc. Chairman, President and CEO Terry Lundgren, who was re-elected to serve another full year as chairman, new members of the board include Laura Sen, president, CEO and director of Westborough, Mass.-based BJ’s Wholesale Club Inc. The other new members hailed from Belk Inc. Ascena Retail Group Inc., Sport Chalet Inc., and Dave’s Soda and Pet City.

Additionally, executives from Microsoft Corp., IBM Corp., American Express Co. and Deloitte & Touche LLP were elected to the board as representatives of the Associate Member Advisory Council. Each will serve a one-year term.

“These distinguished additions to the NRF board of directors will further position NRF as the leader on issues that impact the retail industry and the American consumer,” noted Matthew Shay, president and CEO of the Washington-based organization. “The collective level of experience and professionalism these new board members bring to the table will complement the stellar list of executives who have been representing NRF’s members, our community and our industry.”
