Norway's Coop Trondos to Install Business Process Improvement Software
OSLO, Norway -- Norwegian retail chain Coop Trondos plans to install a complete business solution to help improve processes throughout the value chain for its 30-plus stores.
The system, from St. Paul, Minn-based Lawson Software, includes tools for planning functions in receiving and inventory control.
"We wanted to invest in an integrated retail solution that covers processes running throughout the whole value chain," said Ludvik Erlandsen, financial director for Coop Trondos. "This also includes a service desk solution based on Lawson's Retail concept, which includes integration with the Lindbak POS solution."
Erlandsen said the key to profitability lies in integrated information flow between the point-of-sales application and ERP applications. "With the new solution, we will be able to provide better central support and give the individual shop the opportunity to concentrate its activities purely on running the store," he said.
Trondos owns and operates two Coop Obs Hypermarkets, and over 30 other retail stores in six municipalities.
