No Frills Names New Prez

OMAHA, Neb. -- Independent retailer No Frills here has named its former e.v.p. and c.o.o. Fred Witecy as president. Witecy came to No Frills from the Nash Finch Co., where he served as division v.p.

"Since Fred joined No Frills more than two and a half years ago, our customers have enjoyed superior customer service and higher quality products, even while expanding No Frills from 10 to 15 stores,” said No Frills’ former president, Rich Juro, in a statement.

Juro will remain as c.e.o. and chairman.

The company recently made renovations and upgrades at its stores in Valley View, Blai, and Q Street, and plans to soon begin similar work on its stores in Ashland, Bellevue, and Broadway.

The management team plans to analyze product selection at every No Frills location, customizing grocery items by location in order to better serve the customers at each store. “We want to provide our customers with the products they want at the best possible price,” Witecy added.

No Frills, founded in 1980, today operates 15 supermarkets in Nebraska and Iowa.
