NGA Honors U.S. Senators for Pro-Growth Policies
The National Grocers Association (NGA) awarded its Champion of Independent Grocers to three U.S. senators: Missouri’s Roy Blunt, Arkansas’ John Boozman and Kentucky’s Mitch McConnell. The award honors lawmakers who back with pro-growth policies and workable solutions that advance and strengthen the independent grocery industry.
"Together independent, community focused retailers and wholesalers are a vibrant industry player in America's economy, and we applaud Senators Blunt, Boozman, and McConnell for their work to support commonsense legislation that will keep the independent supermarket industry moving forward," said Peter J. Larkin, president and CEO of NGA.
Lawmakers were presented the award during NGA’s government relations committee’s fall meeting earlier this month.
