New ShopRite in Bethlehem, Pa. Opens

ShopRite of Hunterdon County, owned by the Colalillo family, is opening a new store in Bethlehem, Pa., its fourth location.

The new 68,000-square-foot ShopRite will feature an onsite dietitian who will offer free consultations for customers, meal planning and store tours. Customers also will be able to take advantage of free onsite childcare that will be available in Schrunchy’s Playhouse. The location will offer a scratch bakery making breads, donuts and pastries as well as custom-decorated cakes; a catering coordinator to help customers plan their events; and a hot buffet bar that offers freshly prepared meals, entrees and gourmet offerings to take home or eat in the store. The prepared foods department also features a Mediterranean olive bar, Chinese food specialties, freshly-made sushi and a cheese bar.

The new-build location was outfitted with energy-saving and sustainable technologies in refrigeration and lighting, such as glass doors on the dairy and freezer cases, LED and T-8 lighting and environmentally friendly refrigerants.

“For more than sixty years, it has been our family’s mission to provide our customers with a great place to shop and our associates with a great place to work,” said Joseph Colalillo, second-generation grocer and president of ShopRite of Hunterdon County. “We are very excited to extend this commitment to the Bethlehem community with the opening of this new store.”

The ribbon-cutting for the new store will be Thursday, July 20 and the Colalillo family will make a donation to Second Harvest Food Bank of Lehigh Valley to commemorate the event.
