Grocery Shopping Network (GSN) has released its latest version of Shopper Welcome for retailers and affiliates, a patent-pending digital shopping application that gives shoppers the opportunity to select and view retail offers and brand messages from the consumer packaged goods (CPG) companies they are most interested in when browsing a participating grocer’s website.
“The mission of Shopper Welcome is to provide shoppers with immediate value from their online visit,” said John Gaughan, VP of digital media at GSN. “This innovative digital shopping app assists our grocery and CPG partners in building more effective relationships with consumers, while also placing consumers in the driver’s seat when it comes to the brand experience.”
According to GSN, Shopper Welcome gives its messaging partners the ability to capture shopper curiosity while implementing proven marketing strategies that can accomplish several different online objectives.
In a campaign designed to launch a new product in which a Tier 1 grocer participated, Dr. Pepper sought to enhance its traditional strategy with Shopper Welcome. The campaign created a buzz on over 200 couponing sites, blogs and chat forums with loyal website visitors. The grocer’s website on which the campaign ran received an increase in traffic of over 600 percent for three consecutive days until the offer was no longer available, said GSN.
“In the initial deployment, Shopper Welcome increased traffic six fold for the grocer’s website, and 90 percent of shoppers that selected Dr. Pepper’s brand messages also clicked on the ads,” said Robert Krajeski, president of GSN. “This tells us that shoppers find a personalized shopping experience more useful, and brand advertisers can more effectively reach their shoppers by providing more interactive tools that provide value to the shopping experience.”
