New App Aims to Bridge Gap Between Traditional, Mobile POS

Swift Shopper, a new mobile application available for Apple and Android mobile platforms created by ezCommerce Solutions, was developed for those retailers hesitant to invest in mobile point-of-sale, as it costs them nothing to deploy.

To use, shoppers download the free app to their mobile device (an upgraded version is available for $1.99) and use it to scan items as they shop. The cashier can then use a dual-line hand scanner – which most retailers already have – to scan the codes of each item right off the mobile device.

“The Swift Shopper app successfully bridges the gap between old-school traditional cashiering and the much more cost-prohibitive mobile point-of-sale options,” said Naomi Wilson, president and founder of ezCommerce Solutions. “It allows retailers to boast their technological prowess without any upfront cost or new cashier training on their part.”

In order for the Swift Shopper app to be truly effective, added Wilson, consumers need to know which stores will accept it, and Swift Shopper is actively seeking out national retailers to adopt the application. Retailers interested in participating can call (727) 245-SCAN.
