Nash Finch Company Expands Service to Military Commissaries in Colorado, Wyoming

MINNEAPOLIS -- The Nash Finch Co. yesterday said it will expand its service to commissaries at five additional bases in two additional states, Colorado and Wyoming, effective April 1, 2005.

Nash Finch also said it is consolidating its military operations from its Minot facility into its Omaha Facility, effective on the same date. The food distributor stressed that this move will be seamless to the military installations presently served in North Dakota and brings numerous advantages including increased fill rates, greater economies of scale and a wider array of items available from a single source.

Nash Finch, s.v.p. Jeff Poore stressed the importance of operational efficiency and military experience in both decisions. "It has been an honor to serve the military for many years," he said. "We are focused on constantly improving our service levels. Partnering with vendors to expand the number of commissaries we support validates our performance and underscores our long term commitment to the military sector."
