NASCAR and Hass Avocado Start Their Engines with Promo

LOUDON, N.H. -- The Mexican Hass Avocado Importer's Association's (MHAIA) HASSCAR promotion made its debut at the Busch Series NASCAR race here in mid-July.

HASSCAR driver and seasoned NASCAR Nextel and Busch series veteran Dave Blaney qualified in the Top 10, and quickly moved up to sixth position, where he ran with the leading pack throughout the race.

"Blaney drove a remarkable race, and his positioning gave the #32 HASSCAR an impressive amount of television coverage," said Chris Tully of Garden City, N.Y.- based Preston Tully Group, the marketing agency of record that conceived of the promotion. "Tapping into the fast-growing NASCAR phenomenon allows Hass Avocados from Mexico to reach a large consumer audience while at the same time offering area retailers a valuable high-visibility promotion."

Tully said the sponsorship will not only bring the HASSCAR into over 10 million households, but will also put Hass Avocados from Mexico in front of countless consumers at retail. "This is an innovative motor sports sponsorship for the fresh produce category," said Tully.
