NARMS Joins Center for Retailing Excellence

The National Association for Retail Marketing Services yesterday became a charter member of the Retail Advisory Board of the Center for Retailing Excellence at the University of Wisconsin - Madison, in an effort to create a bridge between the university's academic programs and the retail industry.

In this capacity NARMS will have multiple opportunities to engage students at the newly formed center, including guest lectures, campus recruiting activities, and possible student field trips to member company sites.

The Center represents a collection of retail support led by named partner Kohl's Department Stores, with Shopko and Target as platinum members. Gold members of the group are AT&T, Blain's Farm and Fleet, Bon Ton, Bridgestone/Firestone, Christopher and Banks, Crate and Barrel, Duluth Trading, Diamond Center, Hy-Vee, Land's End, Macy's, Maurices, Roundy's, Sears Holdings, Trek Bicycle, and Walgreens.

NARMS' 516 member companies perform well over $3 billion in merchandising services, sales marketing, event marketing, demonstration, and other retail services annually.
