Pittsburgh-based supermarket chain Giant Eagle has selected MyWebGrocer’s (MWG) Digital Experience Platform to power its omnichannel shopping experience.
Using MWG’s grocery-ready software and services, Giant Eagle will optimize shopper engagement by providing an integrated omnichannel experience that includes providing the platform for the retailer’s Curbside Express online grocery ordering program, digitized circulars and seamless shopping list management across devices, with many more enhancements planned for future rollout.
“Giant Eagle has a longstanding history of providing our customers with the best in high-quality foods and convenience-oriented services, and it is important that we continue to advance this core value proposition by taking advantage of the tremendous opportunities for customer experience innovation made possible by grocery e-commerce,” said Kimberly Aylward, GM of digital marketing and customer experience at Giant Eagle. “MWG’s solution offers the most robust, scalable, proven and innovative grocery e-commerce platform in the industry, and MWG also has the subject-matter expertise and track record for making digital grocery initiatives profitable and high-growth.”
MWG’s Digital Experience Platform will also help Giant Eagle achieve a 360-degree view of customers’ interactions across online and brick-and-mortar channels, allowing the retailer to provide increasingly more relevant value to customers, while also allowing Giant Eagle to collaborate with CPG partners to better connect their brands with shoppers.
“Providing an innovative and superior omnichannel shopping experience in the grocery industry is a complex endeavor – far more complex than in other industries – and requires working with a partner that has deep industry experience, and end-to-end digital platform and professional service support teams designed specifically for the needs of today’s retail grocers,” said Joseph Lee, Global SVP at Winooski, Vt.-based MWG.
Founded in 1931, Giant Eagle Inc. operates more than 420 retail locations throughout western Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, Maryland and Indiana.
