Meijer Stores to Offer Vonage Digital Phone Service
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Meijer Inc. here will begin offering Vonage-enabled Internet telephony products and accessories, which allow users to connect and make calls through a high-speed Internet connection.
Jeffrey Citron, Vonage's chairman, chief strategist and interim c.e.o. said the deal "fits right in with Vonage's mission to save consumers money while providing reliable, quality phone service and support. As with Meijer, you always get our everyday low price, not the now-you-see-it, now-you-don't promotional pricing of some other Internet phone services."
Vonage technology enables anyone to make and receive phone calls with a touch tone telephone almost anywhere a broadband Internet connection is available.
With over 40 different departments within each store, including pharmacies in all of its locations, Meijer operates 179 stores in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, and Kentucky.
