Meijer to Install New Advanced Replenishment Environment

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Grocery and general merchandise retailer Meijer Inc. is working with retail software and solutions provider JDA Software on the design and implementation of a new application to support the advanced replenishment process.

The application is one of JDA's Portfolio Products, which are its demand chain solutions that have been enhanced onto the Microsoft platform using Microsoft.NET technologies. JDA said the PortfolioEnabled applications provide users with the flexibility to choose either modular, best-of-breed point applications, or a packaged suite featuring workflow enablement, integrated business processes and a unified interface.

"JDA permits us to move our merchandising system and our entire portfolio of applications to a new generation," said William S. Noakes, Jr., s.v.p., general counsel, and c.i.o. for Meijer, which operates 162 stores throughout the Midwest. "In moving to that environment, we can be more efficient, more effective, and actually gain a simpler IT infrastructure."
