Meijer Brand Dietary Supplements Receive NSF Certification
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- More than 60 Meijer-brand dietary supplement products have received NSF Certification, which provides the customers of the chain, based here, with increased confidence that what's on the label matches what's in the bottle.
Now that the certification of products is complete, Meijer's dietary supplements -- including a range of products such as vitamins, minerals and botanicals -- will carry the independent NSF mark, so consumers can easily identify the products that have gone through the third-party quality assurance provider's stringent process.
NSF Certification confirms that an in-depth analysis has been performed on the identity and quantity of the ingredients listed on the supplement label. Certification also verifies that the tested supplements do not contain undeclared ingredients or unacceptable levels of contaminants. NSF Dietary Supplements Certification includes: label and formulation review; good manufacturing practices (GMP) plant audits; product testing; safety evaluation and ongoing monitoring to demonstrate continued conformance to NSF/ANSI Standard 173, the only American National Standard for dietary supplement products.
Meijer certified products are also listed on NSF's website.
