McDonalds Makes Newman
NEW YORK -- Actor and packaged goods philanthropist Paul Newman will join with McDonald's executives here today to announce an exclusive alliance that will see Newman's Own salad dressings served with McDonald's new Premium Salads.
McDonald's outlets will add the item nationwide starting March 24, with select restaurants adding the new salads and dressings to their menus between today and that date.
"We are delighted that McDonald's has chosen Newman's Own to be the exclusive supplier of salad dressings for their premium salads -- the only all-natural dressings in the quick-service restaurant industry," said Newman. "McDonald's tosses the greens, we toss in the dressings, and what a delicious reciprocal trade agreement."
Varieties in McDonald's new Premium Salads line include Caesar, California Cobb, and Bacon Ranch. An ad campaign created by DDB Chicago to support the launch is to begin April 21.
