Martin’s Super Markets Launches Click and Collect

Responding to the longtime requests of its shoppers, South Bend, Ind.-based Martin’s Super Markets is launching a click-and-collect shopping service.

The service, known as Martin’s Groceries-To-Go, has been launched at the retailer’s Granger, Ind., store and is expected to expand to other locations in the near future, with the immediate goal to offer the service at half the chain’s stores. Martin’s operates 22 supermarkets in northern Indiana and southern Michigan.

“Our customers have been asking us to launch an online ordering and pickup option for some time,” Amy McClellan, VP of sales and marketing at Martin’s, said of the 2-year process to roll out the new service. “We’ve invested in the technology and skilled personnel both behind the scenes and in the store in an effort to make this launch the easiest and most convenient online grocery experience in the region. And we’re committed to continuing to improve and expand the process as we go forward.”

Enhancing Shopper Convenience

To utilize Martin’s Groceries-To-Go, shoppers visit the online site or download the smartphone app to create an account. Users can shop by item name or category, via the weekly circular or scan items in their pantry.

After reviewing their orders, shoppers can select a pickup day and time, then pay using the secure payment system built into the online site. Groceries-To-Go customers will receive an email confirmation once when their order has been received and again when their order has been shopped by the store’s personal shoppers.

At pickup, shoppers park in specially designated spaces on the east side of the store and then text or call the “pickup ready” number posted on signs at that location. A personal shopper will load orders into customers’ vehicles.

Pharmacy prescriptions, alcohol and tobacco products are not available for online ordering.
